May 22nd GENERAL MEETING 12:00 noon “In the Georgian Manner” Georgian Period Design from 1714-1820
Speaker: Jennifer Boyenga, accredited National Garden Club (NGC) judge, and Virginia Federated Garden Club Symposium Chairman. Jennifer will illustrate the influence of art and architecture on floral design with the “Three Georges”, beginning with King George I of Germany through King George III of England. The Georgian Period followed the Renaissance Design Period of 1400-1600s. She will help us understand the influence of Europe and Asia in the progression of floral design from the Georgian Period and its influence on Colonial American Design. Her designs will be offered to members through opportunity tickets.

Plant material of one type and one color with its variations. Class II - Make up your own title for a traditional or creative design. Background and underlay required for both classes. Norfolk Botanical Gardens June 12. We will arrive at the Gardens at 10:30 and begin our tram tour at 11:00 AM. Wonda Allain will give a talk on Hydrangeas during lunch. A boat tour and a guided tour of the Hydrangea Garden will follow. There will be free time for shopping and touring the gardens. We will leave by 3:00-3:30. WELCOME! Thank you for your interest in the Chesapeake Bay Garden Club! We are an active and vital force in our community with over 100 members . . Our theme this year is "Reaching In -- Reaching Out". What do I expect to get from CBGC? And, how can I positively affect the community around me?
Our club meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 12:00, September -June. (No regular meetings in Nov & Dec) Meetings are held at Festival Halle in Reedville.
Additionaly, there are projects,educational programs and small groups that provide opportunities for involvement in a variety of interests. There's something for everyone! We invite you to join us or contact us [email: info@cbgc.us ] for more information. Guests are invited to attend and new members are always welcome.
